The season which saw ARSENAL FC playing the game of snake and ladder were they every time went high via the ladder got bitten by a snake and came down falling i.e . from being 17th in the first few months of the season and now being 4th, beating chelsea 5-3 but getting beaten by swansea.
The team showed immense character, confidence, control, mental strength but not throughout the whole season but in patches which cost them the FA cup, League cup and yes the Champions League. The fallout from the cup(s) showed what Arsenal lacked the depth, quality and so some players where loaned and taken on loan.
This lack of quality player is now being addressed by Arsene Wenger, who is now changing his method though not totally but giving it a new blend. His change in policy can be seen by the news of Arsenal trying to sign Lukas Podolski. As we all know Arsene Wenger likes to scout the player n number of times and then sign, but now he is doing what is required i.e. not scouting much, not inquiring much but just going for the signing of the player which he wants.
Lukas Podolski aka Prinz Poldi is a big match player as we all know and his arrival to Arsenal will mean a great addition to the attacking department and Podolski is much better than the likes of Chamakh, Bendtner etc.
And since the German International has asked his fellow country men and arsenal defender Per Mertesacker about Arsenal and life in London.
Mertesacker said: “He has been very interested for the past few weeks.
“He has sent me a number of text messages, and I have told him this is a great place to work and that Arsenal are an amazing club.”
Arsenal have offered £11million to Cologne and it is rumoured that the bid has been accepted and since the personal terms were already accepted, so its just a matter of time. His signing before the EURO ’12 is also a good sign for all Arsenal FC fans and also to the players, as this shows the intent of Arsenal for the next season. And after the performance in the Champions League Against AC MILAN, their self belief, confidence is back and this is being touted as ARSENAL RESURGENCE.
